Job Description Summary
Responsible for designing, monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. Performs the installation and management of the application deployment platforms that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs, including Citrix XenApp, Microsoft SCCM, or other application and system management platforms. Understands performance metrics, monitors system performance, and troubleshoots issues related to capacity or other performance issues. The individual will apply platform and software upgrades to production and non-production components to maintain the highest level of availability and performance. Collaborates with other Information Systems colleagues, Information Security Officer, Information Systems Leadership and other stakeholders to identify, develop, implement and support cost-effective and functional information security controls for all aspects of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Responsible for assisting with and providing enterprise systems design, technical project leadership, system implementation, ongoing operational support, proactive analysis, and capacity planning.
2. Installs and manages the application deployment platforms that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs.
3. Installs and maintains the administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance of Epic and other systems.
4. Understands performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues.
5. Assists in the configuration and troubleshooting of integrated third party software and peripherals, including document management systems, voice recognition, scanning, and faxing.
6. Manages logins for different types of access, including login behavior and working environment configuration.
7. Engages in capacity planning exercises to ensure adequate system resources.
8. Collaborates with technical teams and Epic to ensure proactive support.
9. Maintains and configures Citrix and VMware servers with various automation scripts, and Active Directory Group Policy to customize the user experience and improve performance or functionality.
11. Designs, installs and configures anti-virus solutions, backup and recovery, web filtering, network printing solutions, mobile devices, Microsoft Exchange, e-mail filtering, system and network monitoring tools, and supporting other infrastructure applications.
12. Participates in change control process for all planned application and technical activities.
13. Maintains and tests processes related to business continuity.

Network printer management, user profile management, group policy management and configuration experience is preferred. Experience with system and other virtualization performance tools preferred, including Citrix EdgeSight, Solarwinds System Application and Network Performance, or VMware vRealize monitoring tools. Working knowledge of network protocols and functionality including TCP/IP, Active Directory, DHCP, Domain Name Services (DNS), FTP/SCP, and HTTP. Experience with PowerShell, VBscript, SQL or other scripting tools, and storage technologies (SAN/NAS) a plus. System performance management tuning and Disaster Recovery Planning is required.. Personal transportation for local travel between SSHEC sites. Participate in on-call coverage as assigned.
