Job Description Summary
The Emergency Preparedness Intern assists the Emergency Preparedness & Business Continuity Department in supporting and/or executing activities related to emergency events affecting the entire health system.

1. Assist in the facilitation of actual events, drills, and exercises related to Business Continuity / Emergency Planning / Joint Commission and CMS yearly requirements.
2. Assist with post-event reporting, including report drafting, review and revisions.
3. Assist with the continuous improvement of the Resources & Asset Management System.
4. Assist with file management of training and exercises related documentation.
5. Attend training for safety awareness or skills improvement as requested by supervisor/s.
6. Other duties as assigned by supervisor/s.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. A dependable, enthusiastic student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Emergency Management or similar field.
2. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
3. Knowledge of HICS, ICS, and EOC functions.
4. Excellent organizational and time management skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
5. Ability to juggle multiple priorities at once, as well as demonstrate creativity, initiative, good judgment and communicate clearly and professionally.
6. Predictable and reliable attendance, with the ability to meet deadlines, work independently with moderate supervision and consistently demonstrate a positive “can do” attitude while maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
