Development Officer, Stewardship and Prospect Management

Job Description Summary

South Shore Hospital, Southeastern Massachusetts's leading provider of emergency, acute, and outpatient care, is seeking an experienced Development Officer, Stewardship and Prospect Management to join our Foundation team. This position is based out of the Foundation office in Rockland, MA; a hybrid work schedule is permitted. Reporting to the Director of Development, Major Gifts and External Relations of the South Shore Health Foundation, the Development Officer, Stewardship and Prospect Management is responsible for portfolio management activities, prospect development and stewardship activities for the Development Office, in support of the Foundation’s philanthropic mission.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Work closely with the Director of Development to develop donor and prospect engagement / retention strategies by creating an institutionalized stewardship program. Responsible for creating and implementing the Foundation stewardship program. Liaise with the major gift team in the implementation and organization of prospect and/or donor cultivation and stewardship events (that fall outside of the Foundation events team). Creates an individual donor recognition society to mirror Presidents’ Circle corporate giving society. Develop and oversees fund reporting to ensure donors are kept well-informed about the use and impact of their gifts. Work with major gift team to develop a campus-wide inventory of donor recognition named spaces and suggested donations with an emphasis on parity, consistency, and adherence to guidelines; develops tools that assist development officers in securing major gifts.

Responsible for structuring, implementing and monitoring the Foundation Portfolio Management Program. Define process for managing flow of moves management to track gift officer success. Provide continuous training of staff in portfolio management processes, as well as assists frontline staff with tracking prospect and donor engagement strategy.

Support to the major gift team through the identification and research of patient leads to expand the major gift prospect pool. Screen and analyze daily patient lists Conducting research on potential MG prospects. Assist MGOs with prospect outreach strategy. Perform financial analysis of new prospects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years of prospect management, stewardship, and/or research experience, ideally in a healthcare, higher education, or grassroots/non-profit environment
  • Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge NXT, Research Point and/or comparable donor database and wealth screening programs
