Job Description Summary

Under the direction of the Scheduling Supervisor and Clinical Management, performs scheduling responsibilities within Allscripts. Pay range is $20.05 - $26.98 (depending on experience)

Job Description

Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job's purpose and objectives.  Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job.  They are the major functions that the person in the job is held accountable for.  Following are the essential functions of the job.

1 - Responsible for overseeing clinician schedules and inputing schedule changes.

   a - Reviewing schedules with clinicians daily for productivity.

   b - Documents all changes and cancellations in the electronic schedule daily following agency protocol.

   c - Edits appointments and reassigns visits as requested by clinician/clinical manager.

   d - Identifies weekend and holiday visits needed and notifies weekend scheduler following agency procedures.

   e - Responsible for booking all Admission visits.

   f - Set up Per Diem schedule for the team.

   g - Review schedulers tasks thru out the day.

2 - Prints and completes reports as directed

   a - Prints team census weekly and gives to clinician for review.

   b - Runs unverified report to ensure visits are verified.

   c - Reviews report comparing service code with visit type noted in problems.

3 - Works collaboratively with inter agency personnel
 

   a - Coordinates schedule changes with other schedulers and managers as appropriate.

   b - Notifies clinicians of HHA orientations

   c - Notifies appropriate team members when patients are hospitalized or unavailable.
 

4 - Pull unassigned visit report daily and assigns visits to per diems.

5 - Follows principals of Customer Service when responding to each phone call.
   a - Information is removed from voicemail in a timely manner and followed up as appropriate

   b - Takes accurate and complete messages and ensures timely and appropriate ditribution.

   c - Knowledgeable about staff schedules so that questions, calls, and messages are handled appropriately

   d - Responds to all telephone calls in a polite, articulate and pleasant manner

6 - Embraces technological solutions to work processes and practices.

   a - Utilizes and is proficient on department assigned scheduling program.

   b - Utilizes IS system and telecommunication services as instructed, this includes phones, voice mail, email, and paging systems.

   c - Monitors lotus notes in a timely manner.

7 - Fosters a “Culture of Safety” through personal ownership and commitment to a safe environment.
   a - Understands individual roles/responsibilities during emergency situations (ex: fire Drill, electrical blackout, etc.)

   b - Utilizes proper body mechanics when performing all aspects of job

   c - Operates office equipment safely

   d - Maintains a neat, organized work environment

   e - Adheres to electrical safety guidelines

   f - Knows procedure for obtaining material safety data sheet (MSDS)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

General Activity - Frequent Standing/Walking Required, No Driving

Motion - Frequent Activity Required-pushing, pulling, lifting, bending

Motor Skills - Use of hands required, Use of feet required

Weight/Force - Light lifting required (<25lbs)
