RN Registered Nurse Vascular Access Team 32-hour Days Evenings

Job Description Summary

Provids highly skilled and knowledgeable vascular access for patients referred to the hospital vascular access team in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Services include, but are not limited to, PICC and other IV line insertions at the bedside on selected patients as well as troubleshooting obstructed central line catheters and providing consultative services and education about venous access devices to nursing staff, patients, and families. What Do I Need for this Position?

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree
  • Current licensure by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing as a Registered Nurse
  • At least six months of experience in an acute care setting
  • Ultrasound, Peripheral inserted central catheter (PICC), and Peripheral intravenous line insertion proficiency

Nice to Have:

  • BSN or MSN preferred
  • BLS or ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Prior hospital vascular access team experience
  • Vascular Access-Board Certified (VA-BC) or Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) credential

Work Schedule

  • 32 hours/week; day/eve rotate; every other weekend, every other holiday
