Job Description Summary

The full time Advanced Practice Clinician will be an integral part of the ambulatory pulmonary and sleep medicine program at South Shore Medical Center. They will work 8 half-day sessions per week in the clinic setting (Norwell and Quincy locations) and via telehealth. They will work collaboratively with pulmonary physicians and evaluate patients with conditions such as sleep apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia, COPD, and asthma. They will participate in health system-wide initiatives such as pneumonia and COPD readmission reduction programs. 2+ years experience in a hospital or clinic setting managing pulmonary patients preferred. 3+ years experience in a primary care setting will also be considered.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Obtains a detailed and accurate medical history and performs a comprehensive physical exam for patients in the Pulmonary Department
  • Orders necessary diagnostic tests, consultations and procedures as indicated or requested by attending physician.
  • Identifies and manages chronic medical conditions and provides continuous care to outpatient pulmonary patients

 Minimum Work Experience

  • 2 years of Acute Medicine experience or clinic setting managing pulmonary patients preferred. 3+ years in a primary care setting will also be considered.
