The Center for Orthopedics, Spine and Sports Medicine in Hingham Massachusetts and the South Shore Health System are anticipating hiring a second out-patient Physiatrist to join an experienced spine physiatrist and electrodiagnostician.  The current physiatrist works in close collaboration with several large primary care groups, pain management, radiology and spine surgical services.    There is tremendous potential for growth in all aspects of spine/MSK care as SSH serves a large area from south of Boston to Cape Cod and SW to the border of Rhode Island.   South Shore Hospital has the third busiest Emergency Department in Massachusetts, with great potential for additional referrals.

Position Summary:
Responsible for providing comprehensive outpatient clinical services at the Spine Center and other South Shore Health System (SSHS) practices.  Primary responsibility will be to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with acute and chronic spine and musculoskeletal conditions, and functional impairments.   

Education and Experience:

*Board Eligible or Certified, American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.  Eligible for certification or certified in EMG/NCS diagnostic testing with AANEM is optional.

*Maintain a minimum of 12 hours of Category I Continuing Medical Education (CME) every two years in back and spine care.

*Successful completion of fellowship training or comparable post graduate courses with documentation of proficiency for those planning to carry out an interventional spine practice.

*Fulfill all requirements necessary to maintain medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
