Musculoskeletal Service Line Executive Director

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the SSH Vice President of Medical Affairs the Service Line Executive Director   is responsible for the safe and efficient operations of the Musculoskeletal Service Lines.  The Executive Director works closely and in collaboration with the Orthopedic Comanagement Medical Director or designee, CMO, CFO, and the President of the Hospital.  The Executive Director collaborates with the respective service line Chiefs and Nursing Leadership to ensure successful completion of service line deliverables.

The Executive Director works as a professional colleague with the physician directors of Orthopedics, Neurosurgery and Podiatry and with the Executive Director of APCs to collaboratively lead and manage programs and initiatives. The Executive Director will collaborate with the Comanagement Medical Director and Nursing Leadership to develop and manage the Center for Orthopedics, Spine and Sports Medicine Ambulatory Surgery Center.   


The Executive Director is primarily responsible for operations management while the medical leader is primarily responsible is clinical quality. The Executive Director and the applicable clinical leaders will engage Nursing to form a leadership triad to ensure successful and sustainable service lines.  


Bachelors degree in Business or related discipline required, Master's Degree preferred. Seven to 10 years of progressively responsible project management experience with at least three years of experience in health care organizations, excellent communication and thinking skills, ability to work effectively with people at different levels of understanding to motivate and lead change to ensure department success, self motivated with a strong initiative to learn, demonstrated knowledge of business planning methods, marketing concepts, research and data collection processes,  coupled with strong  problem solving and project management skills and a solid understanding of financial and budget analysis requiring software proficiency skills.  The following experience is needed to be considered for this role:


  • Ambulatory Surgery Center experience

  • Musculoskeletal experience

  • Care Model advisement/innovative and forward thinking experience

  • Hospital/private licensure knowledge
