Manager - Medical Staff Services (Credentialing)

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Vice President of Medical Affairs, and in conjunction with the President of the Medical Staff, the Manager of Medical Staff Services acts as a liaison between the Medical Staff, Administration and Hospital Departments; develops and implements goals and objectives, programs, activities, budgets and policies and procedures of the Medical Staff; and, manages the operation of the Medical Staff Services Department.The job duties of the manager of medical staff services include overseeing the staff services department and include ensuring the proper credentialing and privileges for physicians and other medical staff in the health system.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Hospital Administration or related degree strongly preferred. Three (3) years' management experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Certified Professional Medical Staff Management Certification required.  Prefer strong knowledge of human resource management; program development. Experience with Morrisey or Verity software preferred. Expertise in applicable State and Federal regulations and JCAHO and NCQA standards. Broad knowledge of hospital administration and knowledge of fiscal planning/accounting techniques preferred.  Credentials: CPCS and/or CPMSM preferred.
