Human Resources Business Partner

Job Description Summary

Consults and collaborates with management in the strategic planning and development of human resources programs and policies, ensuring that HR plans align with business objectives. Advises and guides managers in human resources related issues including performance management, workforce strategy and organizational design. Provides daily support to assigned groups.

Job Description

Essential Functions
•    Align staff to business objectives, recruiting the right talent, and enhancing staff performance.
•    Partnering with the HR leadership team, plans strategic HR initiatives.
•    Collaborates with the business line senior leadership team and with department managers to help guide and communicate overall system strategy. 
•    Ensures human resource policy and procedures throughout the organization fit the needs, goals, and aims of the organization and its top leadership. 
•    Works closely with Employee Relations to resolve complex employee relations issues and grievances.
•    Determines and steers the objectives of the human resources department of the organization, focusing more on developing strategy rather than implementing policy. The HR business partner ensures that HR strategy fits into the organization’s overall business strategy.
•    Develops and nurtures partnerships through human resources to bridge the divide between leadership and colleagues.
•    Collaborates with colleagues in Human Resources to develop policies, programs, and solutions.
•    Identify business line training needs and create or procure a professional development curriculum.  Monitors training programs to ensure that training objectives are met.
•    Provides input on workforce and succession planning as well as plans business unit restructuring.
•    Fosters a culture of continuous improvement through performance management.
•    Analyzes data trends and metrics to inform business decisions. Partners with the HR Service Center team to identify common challenges 
•    Develops ways to build morale, improve workforce relationships, and boost productivity and retention.
•    Ensures regulatory compliance with legal requirements pertinent to the day-to-day management of colleagues; collaborates with the legal department when necessary.
•    Interprets human resources policy to business line leadership.  Collaborates with colleagues in HR to develop policies, programs and solutions.


Education & Experience
•    B.S./B.A. degree, Master’s degree in HR Management or related field a plus.
•    HR Certification preferred.
•    10 or more years of related experience.
