HR Senior Technical Specialist - Workday

This newly created position will be responsible for the overall configuration, maintenance and optimization of Workday for Human Resources. Identify, create and implement strategies and solutions to support all HR business processes including Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation & Retirement Plans, Talent Management, Recruitment and Learning & Design utilizing the Workday system working collaboratively with our Information Systems team.Essential Functions Configure and support existing Workday modules (HCM, Absence, Time Tracking, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Learning) and add new functionality as necessary Thoroughly test configurations through unit testing and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) across teams Handle projects with ambiguity from design to implementation and often setting your own direction with minimal aid from leadership Troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues Create advanced reports using complex calculated fields Perform ongoing reconciliations and audits of HR data to ensure data integrity Train and mentor junior configuration specialists Create functional and technical systems documentation Serve as technical expert for all things Workday -- engaging with Workday Community, Rising, and user groups to ensure that we are getting the most out of current and future Workday capabilities Develop the strategic roadmap for global HRIS initiatives -- Work with senior leadership and key stakeholders to support organizational strategic objectives, leveraging Workday functionality to ease administrative burden and build efficient, effective, and scalable processes. Develop the overall strategy for all HR technologies needed to support the business, including Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation & Retirement Plans, Talent Management, Recruitment and Learning & Design. Identify, create and implement strategies and solutions that best position South Shore Health to support all HR business processes. Drive adoption, optimization and transformation - Ensure we are fully leveraging Workday to meet strategic business and talent needs and pursue continuous improvement in business processes, integration, automation, and user experience. Partner with Talent and business teams -- Understand their needs and requirements, make recommendations for solutions, and roadmap and prioritize implementation to support SSH’s business objectives. Coordinate with internal and external partners - Work with 3rd party software and internal product, legal, and security teams to ensure configuration and integrations are efficient, compliant, and accurate Manage HRIS workload -- Own planning and release strategies for WD semi-annual releases as well as new features, enhancements, and bug fixes by the team. Identify, establish and track key metrics -- Monitor team effectiveness and Workday-utilization, identifying trends, root causes, and solutions to drive efficiency, scalability, and leverage for SSH. Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or closely related, or equivalent years of experience in a relevant field 5+ years of Workday configuration experience with Workday modules Workday HCM certifications preferred Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge/Skills Strong proficiency in Workday including HCM, Recruitment, Compensation, Performance Management, Benefits, Payroll, Security, and Reporting. Working knowledge of Human Resource and Employment Law. Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite Strong cross-functional partner - Able to work with stakeholders across the business, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical professionals.
