Job Description Summary
The HXP Lead Paramedic will oversee & facilitate daily paramedic workflow efficiency and assist in troubleshooting day-to-day unit concerns with staff and providers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Facilitates daily work-flow efficiency
• Guides, directs, and motivates support staff to perform assigned tasks
• Assists with training of new staff in completing clinical skills checklists
• Ordering: ensures supplies/inventory are adequate for the unit using appropriate vendors
• Ensures all scheduled reports are distributed to appropriate areas in a timely fashion
• Assists in troubleshooting day to day unit concerns with staff and providers
• Vaccine Manager
• Additional administrative duties as delegated from supervisor
• Reports directly to Practice Manager
• Oversees paramedic workflow at practice, manages staff sick calls, floats as needed, reports all changes and/or concerns to Practice Manager for guidance as needed.
• Maintain patient's safe passage in and out of the practice
• Greet, assess and interview patients
• Obtain past medical and surgical history, family history, social history, vital signs
• Review present medications, allergy history, chief complaint
• Prepare and assist patients for examination, treatment, or procedure by medical staff
• Anticipate needs of patients and the provider
• Monitoring of patient during examination or procedure
• Maintain and update level of skill for pertinent medical assistant duties
• Maintain patient care areas
• Stocking supplies as needed, and maintaining clean exam rooms
• Charge and code supplies, medications, and procedures
• Respond to patient's concerns in person or by telephone while simultaneously documenting the problem
• Maintains patient confidentiality
•Administers medications and IVs per physician’s orders
• Perform a variety of preliminary procedures, including phlebotomy, injections, throat cultures and more
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education - Preferred
Successful completion of the Community Paramedic class and clinical portion.
Required License/Registrations
EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic
Preferred Certifications
BLS – Basic Life Support
Required additional Knowledge and Abilities
• Knowledge of medical terminology
